The Tunica-Biloxi Language & Culture Program (LCRP) is offering a six-week online course, Tunica Language on WebEx, through Northwestern State University’s distance learning service. This course is intended for anyone (tribal or non-tribal) interested in learning basic conversational Tunica, and learning more about LCRP and the Tunica Language Project.

The class will meet weekly beginning the week of October 9 and continue through the week of November 13. Participants will receive the link to join the class after completing the registration form. Fill out the online registration form here. Instructors will determine class times upon receipt of all registration forms and will send out an email notification to all participants.

Course Objective:

Participants will be introduced to Rowinataworu Luhchi Yoroni: Tunica Textbook, the language immersion methodology utilized by the Tunica Language Project, and become familiar with Tunica grammar through oral and written practice.

Background:

Rowinataworu Luhchi Yoroni: Tunica Textbook is a resource drafted by the Tunica Language Project working group (Kuhpani Yoyani Luhchi Yoroni, KYLY). KYLY welcomes course participants to provide feedback regarding the current draft of Rowinataworu Luhchi Yoroni.
