Tribal Administrator
The Tribe is somewhat unique in that its Tribal Chairman and Tribal Administrator are one and the same. Most Tribe's have a person in each position, but here Chairman Barbry serves in both capacities. As the Tribal Administrator, he is entrusted to execute tribal administrative affairs as delegated by the Tribal Council, and he reports directly to the Council. Responsibilites include carrying out policies, procedures, and ordinances established and adopted by the Tribal Council. The Tribal Administrator oversees negotiation of contracts or agreements with Federal, State,or local governments, private persons, or corporate bodies and to submit them to the Tribal Council for approval. Included in the responsibilities of tribal admnistrator are managing, administering, and directing the operations of Tribal programs, activities, and services. contact: tribaladministrator@tunica.org
Tribal Administrative Assistant
Responsibilites of the Tribal Administrative Assistant include maintenance of confidental files, correspondence, coordination and scheduling of meetings and appointments, research, assisting in ongoing development and implementation of policies and procedures, handling of health and workmen's comp insurance programs, orientation of new personnel, dissemination of information to other tribal offices and/or tribal members, provision of history, traditions, and activities of the Tribe to various groups or individuals, relaying of information to legislators and lobbyists, etc. for assistance in pro-native American legislation, assistance in proposal and grant writing, gathering of information related to possible business ventures, any duties as assigned. contact: pfoster@tunica.org
Executive Secretary
The Executive Secretary for the Tribe is responsible for maintenance of an accurate and complete filing system, meet and greet visitors for tribal staff and direct them to the appropriate office, answer incoming phone calls and direct to the appropriate department, and assist with travel arrangements for tribal staff. contact: bbarbry@tunica.org
Administrative Assistant to Tribal Council
The Administrative Assistant to the Tribal Council is responsible for review incoming correspondence and directs to the appropriate council member, assists in maintaining confidential files, composes and types correspondence and does research for material needed for government use. Responsibilities also include scheduling and coordinating meetings and various appointments for Tribal Council, keeping calendar as needed.
