The Tunica-Biloxi Health Program is a federally funded program and operates under federal guidelines and Tribal Policies. "We are the payor of last resort". We can only service members who reside in Avoyelles and Rapides Parishes. The Health Department can be contacted at (318) 253-6100 or 800-265-6060
Health Director
Supervises and directs assignments of all personnel within the Health Department. Participates fully with Tribal Chairman/Administrator and Finance Officer in planning and directing health priorities and budget to be presented to Indian Health Service for negotiation. Approves all vouchers, checks, and disbursement directing priority care within budget restraints. Maintain liaison between the Tunica-Biloxi Health Program and the Indian Health Services, Nashville, Area Office, Tribal, State and local professionals and other health organizations. Any other duties as assigned by Chairman/Administrator.

Medical Care Clerk
Issues purchase orders after verifyng eligibility, to members when requesting medical services. Maintains a file on all eligible members with their personal insurance, medicare, medicaid information etc. Makes contact on a daily basis with providers, insurance clerks, etc. in reference with clients bills: E, I, . To make sure insurance has made payment and to retrieve outstanding authorization forms. All reports as required in the contract are transmitted to Indian Health Service, Nashville Area Office by computer. Procures vouchers, and submits them to Health Director for approval then to Finance Department for payment and files. In the absence of the Health Director, responsible for determining client eligibility for medical services. All other duties as assigned. cfoster@tunica.org
Mental Health/Alcohol Substance Abuse Clinician/Counselor
Assumes Primary responsibility for the delivery of mental health and substance abuse services. Provides outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment services to children and adults. The delivery of services include: counseling, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, outreach, referral, consultation, education, aftercare, case management, and evaluations. jwilson@tunica.org
Administrative Assistant to Health and Social Services Department
Receives visitors and directs them to appropriate offices, receives telephone calls, handles incoming and outgoing mail as directed. Types reports, letters, forms and memorandums as requested. Time keeper (maintians records of employees accrued time and time used). Cross-trained to assist with other duties in the absence of health staff.
