Vision & Mission Statements

The Tunica-Biloxi Economic Development Corporation seeks to protect and preserve the Tribe's Culture and to improve the Quality of Life for the members of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of LA by creating multi-industry economic development projects that lead to financial success and diversity for the Tribe.

The Corporation also desires to create advanced employment opportunities for Tribal members and the non-tribal members of the larger communities where Tribal businesses are located.

The EDC will strive to utilize casino revenues to develop a sustainable source of long-term wealth for the Tribe, its members and future generations.

Past Initiatives

Tamahka TrailsThe Tribe's Economic Development Corporation in the past has developed and operated 5 fast food restaurants located throughout Central Louisiana in as many towns. The stores have employed more than 100 workers at any given time over 8 years. The businesses have supported the professional development of Tribal and non-Tribal employees as they have moved up the chain of command in each of the establishments.

The Corporation has also provided, at various times, temporary financing to the Paragon Casino Resort for short-term expansion funding projects in order to minimize capital development costs to the business and foster continued growth at that facility.

Current Events

The Corporation’s 7-member Board is working on developing a cohesive strategic plan that will focus on growth via two main avenues of action.  First, the Board will look to the adoption of a comprehensive wealth creation process.  Secondly, shrewd investment in particular economic development projects that will yield an increase in job opportunities in Central Louisiana as well as increasing the Corporation’s assets and profits.

The strategy will, in truth, be a combination of growth and stability initiatives--so as to preserve the Corporation’s growth.

Future Game-plan

The Economic Development Corporation will aggressively research potential investment and business proposals that will align themselves with the organization’s objectives.
